From where came the name Cyprus?
From a word - copper. During the different periods of the evolution of people they appreciated different type of metals. Once has come the turn of copper and on island has begun its strengthened extraction. It was long time ago. Approximately from 2000 B.C. the copper began to export from Cyprus in big amount. Certainly, now there is copper on Cyprus as well as trees - very small.

The blossoming island, now it is covered by trees only in the north part of the island, in a forest reserve. And to set island with trees unfortunately no one is hurrying up. Now people on island live richly due to an agriculture and tourism. Basically Englishmen come here. They feel here almost like at home. For them are constructed modern hotels and constantly thousand of new villas are under construction, many of which belong to Englishmen or rich Arabs.
The cheap cyprus villas it is also a source of the income for their owners - they can rent it. Cyprus it also a huge port. Many ships come here. Certainly Cyprus has lost the former importance, as the center of Mediterranean sea, but remains a very attractive resort.
